Verify a certificate
Check whether an AdresX address verification certificate is genuine and still current. No login needed.
What this page shows
It shows what AdresX has on record for the certificate ID you enter. Compare the level and dates with the document you were given. If they differ, do not rely on the document. The page shows no location and no personal details.
Genuine, and still current
A valid signature proves a certificate was issued by AdresX and has not been altered. That can be checked offline, but an offline check cannot know that a certificate has since been revoked or replaced by a newer one. This page can. The statuses are:
- CurrentGenuine, not expired, and not replaced or revoked.
- SupersededA newer certificate exists for the same address.
- ExpiredPast its expiry date (twelve months after it was issued).
- RevokedWithdrawn by AdresX, with a reason such as fraud, error or a changed address.
- Not validThe signature does not match, so the certificate may have been altered.
For developers
The same check is a public endpoint with no key. It returns the status, level and dates only:
curl https://adresx.org/v1/certificates/CERTIFICATE_ID/status
See Integrate for the rest of the API and how it works for what each level means.
